The work in this workshop is based on the duo format “The Bench” created by Menelaos Prokos and Billy Kissa (There are various different formats with the same name. You may have seen it, or may have not). It is a format based on strong relationships, slow progression, and the history written between two people sitting on a bench.
During the workshop we will work on slow, emotional improv, where we pay attention to every single detail happening around and between us. Do not expect much scenework, if any at all. Expect embodying the feeling of taking things slower than slow. We will see what it’s like to observe the tiny little details that usually go by unnoticed, but if we give them the attention they deserve they will make our senses tingle, and therefore, give an intense sense of realism both for the actors and the audience.
